Photo highlights from the NRL Premiership round 8 clash between the Warriors and Knights which was played at the Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch.

The Warriors excellent form going into the game didn't let the handbrake off as Adam Pompey dived over to score his first try of the night inside ten minutes as the Warriors farewelled a famous Canterbury rugby league venue with a resounding 26-12 win over the Newcastle Knights on Anzac Day on an emotional night in the garden city.

Jackson Ford grabbed two tries on the occasion of his 50th game. The 17,095-strong capacity crowd roared on the Warriors who scored five tries to two in the last NRL game at Apollo Projects Stadium. The Warriors who are committed to Christchurch until 2028 - will take the game to new heights upon the opening of the new 30,000-seat roofed One New Zealand Te Kaha Stadium situated in Christchurch's city centre next to Latimer Square it is very likely a new attendance record will be set.

Befitting its Anzac Day scheduling, the night’s fixture was crammed full of action throughout as the Warriors backed up their golden point win over the Broncos with an incredibly dominant performance. The New Zealand Army band also gave a stirring Anzac Day performance to pay tribute to fallen commrades.

Any amenity was soon dissolved after the whistle was blown after both teams lost a man to the sin bin. Both teams also had tries chalked off as both Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Taine Tuaupiki were denied for the Warriors and Greg Marzhew and James Schiller for the Knights. The Warriors however crossed the line three times legitimately before half-time going into the break 16-0 up.

After the break the Knights got their reward after when Ponga and Gagai combined to put Schiller over however the revival was shortlived when both Wayde Egan and Adam Pompey both scored tries to seal a sublime performance the pick of which came after Adam Pompey capitalised on a Knights mistake to dive over infront of an ecstatic Warriors crowd.
