Photo highlights from the A-League Round 13 clash between the Wellington Phoenix and Adelaide United which was played at the Sky Stadium.
The phoenix came into the game injury hit and low on confidence after only one win in their last four previous games.
An early own goal gave the visitors the lead and put the struggling Phoenix on the backfoot after Matthew Sheridan turned the ball into his own net after attempting to deal with Zach Clough's dangerous cross to the back post. After half-time the Phoenix started the second half with more intensity and were rewarded nearly straight away after Corban Piper dragged the Phoenix back into the contest when he scored his first ever A-League goal.
After the equaliser the game became stretched and with fifteen minutes to go Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi spilled the ball at Luka Jovanovic’s feet after colliding with defender Scott Wootton while attempting to make a routine catch from a Dylan Pierias cross to give the visitors the three points.
