Photo highlights from the action at the Basin Reserve in Wellington during Day 1 of the 2nd Test, between New Zealand and England on what was a sweltering day in the capital as England were all out for 280, after another sublime performance from Harry Brook who was England's saviour racking up a blistering century from 123 off 115 which featured five sixes and was his third in four matches in New Zealand balls before eventually being run out by Nathan Smith.
The final three wickets fell in less than three overs after the break, with England adding 21 more runs. The Black Caps then had two hours to bat, knowing a good showing would put them well on top in their effort to bounce back from their eight-wicket defeat in the first test in Christchurch.
New Zealand were 53-1 at drinks, however midway through the final session, with Williamson and Latham at the crease, they collapsed losing four more wickets before the end of the days play.
